Derian House Children’s Hospice complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice and treats all applicants fairly. We will not discriminate unfairly against anyone based on a conviction or other information revealed in a criminal record check.

This role requires a DBS check at the level relevant to the position (Basic for Retail, Standard or Enhanced for Hospice volunteering). Checks are only carried out once suitability has been confirmed through the recruitment process.

At interview, or in a separate discussion, we will have an open conversation about any offences or other matters relevant to the role. Failure to disclose directly relevant information may result in withdrawal of a volunteer offer.

Help us create welcoming, inspiring spaces at Derian House! Every room in our hospice plays an important role in bringing comfort, joy, and positivity to the babies, children, young people, and families we support.

We’re looking for a Painter & Decorating Volunteer with experience to support our Facilities Team in keeping all rooms looking their best. Whether working independently or as part of a team, your skills will make a real difference to our hospice environment, helping create fun and welcoming spaces that everyone can enjoy.

What you’ll be doing:

Prepare and paint walls, woodwork, and other surfaces

Apply finishes and decorative touches to create fun, inviting spaces

Work independently or collaboratively on projects

Maintain a safe environment for yourself and others, in accordance with Health & Safety policies and risk assessments

You’ll love this role if you:

At Derian House we help children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories in an environment of fun, respect and above all, high quality care.

We provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people across the North West. We do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We never close to those who need us.
